CERT Played a role in ADA Council Convention! Captain Tony Escobedo talks about the FFD Firefighter demonstration of the new Stryker evacuation chairs helpful in extracting disabled persons via high-rises staircases.
The new Fire Support vehicle used as mobile command post, rehabilitation of firefighters and fire victims was shown at the ADA Convention.

CERT Fresno Presented CERT-Lite to the San Joaquin Valley Amateur Radio Society Harvest HamConVention Friday September 16th, 2005. Glen and Cedric led the discussion.  President Kim Davis SJVARS, her VP Carole and attendees to HamConVention. 
Gordon "Gordo" West noted author and leading figure in Ham Radio displays a few of his tools from his Go-Kit. Gordon West tells the group how amateur radio and CERT in Southern California have linked for emergency communications. A weekly net links neighborhoods.

CERT Fresno Instructor Ali Umar has been working with Central California area native tribal leaders to create Tribal Community Emergency Response Teams (T-CERT). Here is a picture of Ali at the New Years Eve Red Road PowWow.  Ali is doing awesome developmental work in developing T-CERT!

Fresno Police Department Citizens On Patrol (COP) Northwest PD Area receive hands-on CERT Fire Suppression Training November 30th.
   
Fresno CERT's participated in a Fresno Police Department Continuing Education session on Terrorism November 4, 2004. Working "Under Cover" is Officer Rich. CERT's are discouraged from getting near any terrorist incident. Officer Rich described the extreme hazards.
Rich has an extensive terrorism reading list.

AmeriCorps Volunteers heed the call to deliver humanitarian service to others by installing smoke detectors. Members canvassed over 100 Manufactured Homes, installing 20 detectors and distributing replacement batteries. Justin and Anne

Newly sworn CERT Members finish canvassing a 155 unit mobile home community insuring smoke alarms are functioning. This mobile home park suffered a death from a non-operational smoke alarm one week ago. The CERT Members will return to install 50 plus donated smoke alarms and fresh batteries in the following week. This was conducted under the City of Fresno Fire Department Prevention Division. Great work CERT!
